Comprehensive Eye Exams

A comprehensive eye examination assesses the clarity of vision and the ability of the eyes to work together.  If needed, a lens prescription is provided to correct any deficiencies so as to enhance patients' ability to see clearly and comfortably. Attention is given to the differing needs for various tasks in patients' daily, work and leisure activities.  In addition, the health of the eyes is evaluated through the assessment of pupil function, peripheral vision, and all structures of the eye for any abnormalities. A dilated examination of the internal structures enhances the detection of ocular diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.  Other tests can also aid in diagnosing eye disease. Appropriate referrals are made when indicated.

Red Eye Evaluations

Patients with red or irritated eyes are examined to determine the cause and appropriate treatment is initiated if indicated. We treat minor abrasions, eye infections, complications of contact lens wear, ocular allergies, and dry eyes. Follow-up care is ongoing through direct communication with the patient and re-evaluation as needed, until the patient's condition is resolved.
