Presbyopia

Presbyopia is a natural part of the aging process of the eyes. It is not a disease, but rather is a vision condition. Presbyopia occurs because the shape and flexibility of the crystalline lens of the eye changes as we enter into our 40’s. This condition makes it difficult to focus on close objects and cannot be prevented. Some signs of presbyopia include holding reading material at arm’s length, blurred vision at normal reading distances, eye fatigue during prolonged near or computer work, as well as headaches. Dr. Lynette Devine can help you compensate for presbyopia by prescribing reading glasses, multifocal glasses or multifocal contact lenses.
