Macular Degeneration

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is an eye condition that occurs when there are changes to the macula, a small portion of the retina that is located on the inside back layer of the eye. AMD is a loss of central vision that can occur in two forms: “dry” and “wet.” The “dry” form of macular degeneration is more common.
In the early stages of AMD symptoms may go unnoticed.

Symptoms of macular degeneration you may experience include gradual loss of the ability to see objects clearly, distortion of the shape of an object, straight lines may look wavy or crooked, loss of clear vision, or a dark spot in the center of your vision.

If you experience any of these signs or symptoms, please contact Dr. Lynette Devine immediately for an eye examination.
